My car makes a hissing noise that comes from the exhaust system. I know its not anywhere from the cat back. and I know its not that flex pipe thing. and when it was cold outside i could seesteam or fog coming from the font of the car kind of blowing down onto the floor (outside) does this make any sense or am i just rambling on? Some places mentioned the "front pipe" and wanted $300 to fix it. If I pay that much i want to be sure it will get rid of the noise because it takes away from my exhaust system. Any Ideas?

 

could be your y pipe, mine cracked about a year ago.
