Cleaned the TB and installed a new antenna
Well today was weekend mechanic day for me.
I finally encouraged myself to do the TB cleaning. The initial removal of the components were quite easy. The plates did not look that bad but they were covered with carbon. I did run into one problem. I had purchased a new gasket and removing the old one was quite a struggle. It would not simply scrape off. I tried to soak it in hot water but no luck. I even tried gasoline but it was like fused on. After 75 minutes of patience and hard work, I finally managed to scrape the damn thing off.
After the re-assembly and ignition start, I was expecting the idle to be way off, but it was not. But the tail pipe did blow dirty smoke for about 1 minute. But the idle was now silky smooth with no vibration at all.
Thanks to all you guys (Brubenstein & CraigB) for all the step by step help and encouragement.
Afterwards, I installed a brand new antenna and it works like a charm.
