vg motor swap problems

Just swaped in a vg but I'm having problems. Everything installed but the problems i'm having is at idle. The engine revs up from 1500-1900 rpm up & down constantly in Neutral/Park. But in gear it seems to be okay. All vacuum lines are in place. Can anyone relate to this or can anyone point me in the right direction?
thanks

Sometimes a coolant sensor can do this or a bad MAF. I had a Civic do it once I took it and drove it hard; redlining it. Problem went away.

Had this problem toady after putting my intake manifold together. The throttle cable was a TAD too tight, the slightest pull on the cable will make the idle high. Try loosening the cable and a little oil on the throttle body shaft.

If not that, you need to adjust your idle.

Honda take honda lovers advice and go redline your car.

I don't think he is saying that it is idling high. Sounds like he is describing the car is "searching" for an idle. Keeps revving up and down.

You probably have air in the coolant system, or a bad coolant sensor. The connector for the sensor could be corroded as well causing the same symptom.

i would check throttle cables as goon said. i had the same problem after replacing my knock sensor. i left the pedal cable loose and adjusted the cruise control cable until it was right then went back and did pedal

i don't know...why would the idle hunt? it's either there's coolant or not...it wouldn't bounce up and down that quickly.

+1 .......................

I have often seen it suggested that a "air bubble" in the cooling system can cause idle speed hunting. IMO - if the sensor is ok, the basic mechanical and electrical characteristics of both the sensor and the mounting location absolutely prevents that possibility - only way it (air bubble) may indeed influence idling is if you stop breathing and suffer a stroke, and as a result start jabbing the throttle with your right foot in a final dying spasm.

Problem solved. Upon further inspection, there was a loose vacuum line. Also, the throttle shaft was sticky as you guys mention earlier. It's actually bent quite a bit but i have adjusted it to get roughly 800 rpm @ idle. I apreciate all your guys help.
