I have the same problem, I think the rear drivers window regulator is broken because it will not roll back up using the switch and it goes down by itself. After pulling the window up by hand and using the switch to roll it back down a clicking noise can be heard, which probably means the motor is still working. Typically, how long are these window regulators suppose to last because the drivers and passenger's front had to be replaced now now this one . Anyone know where I can get one?

Yeah, the plastic pieces in the regulator have fallen apart. I just replaced my front one. Relatively easy job. Here's a great writeup on the job.

I think most people have replaced at least one window regulator. I have done a few.

Simple, yet annoying problem. Please replace this yourself. The dealership charges waaay too much for both the part and the labor and it is very simple to replace. IIRC, you just need a screwdriver and a 10mm socket.

Just buy a new one (not used one from the junkyard) and be done with it.

i replaced mine ($75 from a junkyard..) last week. My girlfriend rode in the car prior to me finishing the job, so all the bits and pieces that have to be removed to remove the weather sheet were still off, thus the door was opened with with just that metal rod, and she bent it, and it messed up my door lock. the door wouldn't open... OH GOD. But after i played around with it i saw why (the door lock timer thought the handle was being pulled when it wasn't and thus held the lock shut) so i bent it back and now it works fine.

honestly the hardest part of the job is hooking the little plastic clip on the upper cable back into the little hole you are supposed to pop it into.

um the cable is part of the regulator, you shouldn't have had to touch it

i'm talking about a tiny tiny clip that holts the cable snugly against the interior sheetmetal of the door. it's the one you have to push through to remove the regulator. http://s164.photobucket.com/albums/u...t=IMG_2428.jpg

I just replaced a regulator in my car not very long ago. There was no clip, and I got mine brand new from Auto Zone for around $70, so $75 from a junkyard was a rip off.

Warning for ya.. I tried eBay (yeah yeah I know).

IE one from this seller..
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/89-90...33573466QQrdZ1

Bought front right and left. Both are like half an inch too tall or something cuz they block the window from rolling up all the way. It mounts on OK, but .. auugh! Anyways, $40 down the drain as this seller had no return policy. Want to try the ones I have?

That's where I got my replacement for my front right and it didn't fit 100%. The window slides slower and is not as sturdy, it moves left and right.

Ive replaced my two fronts (94 max) about 5 yrs ago by the dealer. ($250 bucks each) . Now waitng for the backs to go out. No one uses the back seats so I keep them locked out of service. No matter though when they go out the window will come down by itself. This was a bad design because from what I undestand the plastic part that breaks was due to sun heat. It's been improved upon on later models.

Yes, there are a number of plastic pieces in the system, and on the regulator that I replace, every one of the plastic bits was broken.

got the one from zbra motors off ebay. works great. the down stop is alittle higher so when the window is rolled all the way down the window peeks out of the seal alittle bit but still better than the window not working at all and falling down when I got on the highway
