Plastic Cover
I wouldn't worry about it...it's only designed to protect the right front side of your engine, radiator and transmission against water and road debris. Replacing a starter would be cheaper and easier than replacing this cowling....

Huh?
How would replacing a $5-$10 junkyard part be cheaper than a $120 starter?
I picked up a few of the different splash shields from a junkyard car since mine were falling off in different places, and once my right wheel (stock) ate through its fender shield when I went over a speed bump too fast. I think the front end was airborne for a moment.
They protect all the steering and axle boots from oncoming debris, and probably reduce wind noise at highway speeds.
P.S. sarcasm doesnt go through well in text form, so you better make sure its super obvious or else no one will get it. This post is entirely sarcasm-free.

They are ridiculously expensive from the dealer...mine had been ripped off, but I reattached them with some wide-@$$ washers to hold them on...the engine bay gets dirty WAY too fast w/o them...
