Hi, umm do you mean after a CV axles job you need to flush your ATF? I heard also is a good idea to do alingment, is it true?

when you pull the axle, trans fluid comes out.
you shouldn't need an alignment when you do the axle.

oh! I didn't do the job, mechanic did, I guess he fill it up to the right level because I see no difference on the fluid level stick.

Wouldn't u need an alignment since u disconnected the spindle from the strut?

it's always good to get an alighnment when you get an oil change. Well, maybe not an alighnment but a check up. I saved on getting new tires after i dropped my 89 cause I keep getting check ups. It's a nice sound (or lack there of) to turn and it be smooth with no clicking. It felt like a new car when it happend to mine. R.I.P. "foxy" 89-06

get an alignment when you get an oil change? An alignment won't have anythign to do with the CV axle. When you drop a car you change the geometry of everything and sometimes stress many parts of the suspension.

Are you trying to get to your 15 posts? LOL

why are you disconnecting the spindle from the strut?
you pop the ball joint out of the knuckle along with the tie rod.

will that give you enough play to get the cv axle out? I have never done CV axles on a Max but I have on some other cars where there wasn't enough room to get it out. If you just do it the way you said then yeah I don't see any need for an alignment.

with the 3rd gen it's even easier...
just unbolt the 3 nuts from the ball joint mount.
pop off the tie rod (if really needed) and it should move enough to get the axle out.

No, i was just giving my input. I was told that information when I got my CV's changed. But if that info is wrong, i will bow to the correction. It's been yrs since that was done and I don't drive my 3rd gen anymore. Had to put it down.
