Engine Control Fuse Blowing
Just today my Maxima began blowing the engine control fuses. When that happens there is no voltage to the ECU, and then of course no ignition.
While troubleshooting I found that the fuse would blow every time that the key was on and the manual shifter (in neutral) was moved towards the driver at the end of it's travel. At the point I can measure very close to 0 ohms to ground at the fuse location.
If I disconnect the connector that runs down to the manual transmission, then wallla..no more fuse blows. What the heck is that...???...a gear sensor for feedback to the ECU...or what? Has anyone encountered such a bizzarre problem?
Thanks in advance,
Jamie
