Antennas

My car has a broken power antenna. I want to replace it but when my mom had her 95 altima it broke all the time and had to get it fixed. I was just wondering if there were any alternitive antennas, but I dont want the rubber kind that you can get at wally world.

accept the search is broken... or was! As far as antenna's - you can usually expect that it is the plastic "rope" inside the antenna is broken - it has teeth on one side and is flat on the other side. This is only probably true if you can hear the motor trying to extend/retract the antenna. If not, you can get a replacement assembly off of ebay to last you a while....

I've replaced mine with a standard antenna (non-power) from metra. I soldered on a standard antenna connection and put on the $11 metra black antenna and it works fine.

I replaced the mast twice and then just left the antenna in the fully extended position after the second one broke. It's a pretty easy replacement once you understand how it works.
