I am wanting to do a motor swap in my max. I now have a Gxe with close to 150 thousand miles on it and I wanna put a se motor in it. The DOHC one. Is this at all possible? Do they mount up the same? Will I need a new computer system to run it?
Any info is great.
Thanks

Well.......

anything is possible....but its more trouble than worth it. From what I've heard there will be a couple "accessories" to relocate in the engine bay and new "electronics" will have to be swapped.....and for 30 extra hp and maybe .4+/- off in the quater mile(in the case of the autos), in my book its far from being worth it. there are a couple threads in the archies about this, and most of them will have the same answers I just gave you! and BTW 150k ain't **** for a well taken care of VG...do you think its gonna die soon or something??

WEll Im not to sure

I was just thinkin that with 150 thou on it... But It dosent burn any oil or anything like that. I was talking about NOS but I was told that it had way to many miles on it to do that. Ad thats what gae me the Idea for the motor swap.

Thereoretically.....

you can do NOS on a 150k motor, but I would suggest you get a compression test done first to reassure the engine is still properly functioning. some other tests to look into to reassure the propper operation would be to "test"/clean the fuel system as well and probably have the engine flushed too using the Blisten system they have at Nissan.
