the smoked/lined lens are the stock BMW lens. the clear lens he has is an acutal HID headlamp, he just swapped them out.

hehe actually its kinda ghetto how i did it, but it turned out cool. i took out that whole lense and stuff, and then i actually used a cd and cut it to fit in the pod where the old piece of glass was, and then covered it in tin foil and stuck the new HID lense through. ghetto: yes.. works and looks good: yes. haha, so the cd is there as a braket basically, and the HID lense sticks through that. behind im probably just going to tape it all closed so no water can get in. hope that helps.

total cost...60 dollars. hehe no joke. just what i paid for the bmw lights. my lights wont have that 'angle eye' look of the new 5 series. too much work, but it could be done kinda easy. just buy a flex neon tube and put it around each headlight. but thats too much i think. hehe start a business.... yea right.

thats an interesting though, whether the cd will melt... guess we'll just have to find out huh? that never really crossed my mind. hehe, yea i like that. im the first converted bmw lights to convert to maxima. haha.

wait, you paid $60 for the headlights...what about all the HID stuff? dont you need the harness and bulbs and some sort of ballast (if i'm remembering correctly)? also, how complicated is the rewiring of the headlight harness to work with the bmw bulbs?

Its not going to be a swap in/out thing. there is cutting and other fabrication involved and if you not carefull youll end up with crooked looking lights. Ill admit it looks tight when its done right but when it isnt it looks horrible and also i think that you guys should get some tint and tint your corners. ANd also everyone else with clears the trim looks some much better black.

Sorry for being an *** but i had to get it off my chest.

But the HId looks great are you going to do the other bulb cuz it looks cool with just one.

yea, this mod isnt an easy one. it does require a lot of fitting and manipulating, but im prepared for that. yea, i got the lights used for 60 bucks (basically perfect condtion) and all the HID equiptment was all free (gotta love workin at a car dealership

on the lights, im only converting one of the pods, so itll look like the pic. it resembles the e46 bmw headlights too.

if you actually wanna try the mod the lights are from a 92-98 bmw 3 series, body style e36
