This may come as a shock to you, prepare yourself, but i tried to listen to a cassette ( ) the other day on my standard Maxima stereo and for some reason i had to turn it up to full volume just to be able to hear it.

The radio volume is fine so why is the cassette volume messed up?

(the tape was fine in my old car)

 

Could it just be dirty inside and need one of those head cleaning kits?

 

Considering the radio is 12+ years old,you're lucky anything works on it..

But yeah,maybe some cotton swabs/alcohol will help it some..

just kidding. Go to radio **** and get a head cleaner cassete for like 5 bucks and see if the problem persists...also try a different cassette, you never know.

 

If you don't wanna spend the money I sure someone has an in dash cd player laying around they can donate to you. I would send you one but can't find the face.

 

My buddy has almost every nissan BOSE and non bose headunit made up to 2001 in stock for decent prices. You can always use a 2 din CD and tape player
