i know these are primarily for fine-*** chicks to drive, but my friend at work wants to start modding his (springs, intake, short throw shifter, UDP, etc). how do these stack up against our 3rd gen's? i've seen some that look tight when they're hooked up. what do you guys think?

oh, and i'm starting to think about getting a new car again. i've been thinking about how my car is over 10 years old, just past 130,000 miles, and has some stuff that needs to be fixed on it (exhaust studs, cv boots, etc). i've been thinking about getting a 97-99 4th gen, a 300zx n/a, or the last generation civic hatchback. i probably won't have a hard time finding a 4th gen or civic hatchback, but a 300zx with low miles will be hard to find at a decent price. do you guys know of any civic (particularly hatchback) message boards that are similar to the .org? what do you guys think i should do??

Jetta III's suck *** big time.A Max will run all over it! And I hope you dont get rid of you ride sure it is 10 years old *blah*blah*blah* It still looks new besides it is paid for so enjoy it.And 3rd gen. owners in So.Cal are deminishing so keep your pride forget about age and mileage and mod away.I think about it alot my car has 207,000+miles on it.And I am going to keep modding it you think about getting a new car just like me I bet you just have to shake it off.Even if you do get a new car you will see a 3rd gen. and wont take your eyes off it.You will regret it for life.I couldnt think of getting rid of mine what a horrible thing

Jettas

My completely stock 92 SE 5spd beats my friend's 99 Jetta VR6 5spd fairly easy, but I've driven his, and those Jettas are smooth shifting cars with classy looking interiors. It makes you appreciate how much better cars have become in 10 years, though I think the 3rd Gen Maximas will become automotive classics. Here's to $4000 buying a 6.7 second 0-60!
