What the heck do I have?(Bose question)
#1
OK guys this ought to be an easy one...
In my 89 gxe I have what seems to a NON-bose head(doesnt say bose anywhere so I figure non-bose,right?) and the tape doesnt work so im stuck to a couple of crappy stations because my antenna is broken! Anyway I look in the trunk and I see two clarion speakers (30w max?)and this round heat sink one the left (amp?)which also says clarion. I havent wanted to mess with door panels yet but from what ive described what do I have? can I get a (working!) bose head and enjoy the BOSE EXPERIENCE or take the whole thing out and hurt my wallet?By the way all my speakers work if that helps. As usual I call on the max counsel for wisdom and enlightenment!

since it sounds like it's not bose, you would probably be better off replacing everything, but you can just start with an aftermarket headunit if you dont want to spend too much money

if you have the stock bose speakers (which were an option for the GXE), it will say BOSE on your speaker grilles up front and in back; otherwise, it will say active speaker in the back
