Front struts

I hit a bump in the road and my left front tire felt and sounded like it was going to fall off. Are the front struts on their way out? The car has 95,000 miles on it.

probably about dead. struts usually only last about 60k miles on thiese cars, so if you've got 95k on your originals, it's most likely time for replacement.

Any suggestions on brands Bilstein,Gabriel, Tokico?

I've used...

KYB's. The ride is a great combination of good handling, plus not so stiff that you feel every worm. Just my opinion. If you want a true sports car feel, I hear Tokico's are the way to go, with Eibach's.

About the sound you heard, have you checked the front sway bar links? If they get loose, they will make a sound like you heard. Happened to me once. I agree w/Matt though...new struts are a must a especially at almost 100k. You won't regret it!
