Synthetic and regular ATF is interchangable , right??

Hi fellas, I have a '90 GXE and i started getting really **** about the tranny about 8 months ago. I have added a cooler and drain/filled twice. Both times I used NISSAN ATF, which Kaleb and others recommended. Well I read a bottle of Mobil-1 syn ATF and it says its compatible with all ATF fluids. Everyone knows synthetic is better. Would it be worth my wild to use synthetic??
Oh and another thing...I have done 2 drain/fills already. Would it be a good idea to just replace all the fluid with synthetic atf??
Thanks,
Kevin

I would say no. Stick with the regular ATF. I have been using Penzoil and Shell ATF. I change it quite often because only about 2.9 - 3 quarts out of the total 7.8 come out. If you replace with synthetic, it mixes up. It's my personal opinion that this is not a good idea.
I put the Redline synthetic transmission fluid with older fluid in my old white 91 Maxima. A few thousand miles later, it died. Of course, I was a novice back then and this was my only drain/replace. Also, the fluid that came out with the change was black. So, you may be fine.

This should be just fine. I switched my Max to Mobil 1 synthetic ATF. I have an extra bottle in the garage and the back says it's compatible with regular ATF. I'd go for it but make sure to get a machine flush to switch it all out. Otherwise why spend the $$. It's about 5-6/qt. you should buy 10-12 to fill the machine. My view is... although expensive, it's far cheaper than tranny work.
