Just wait til you pull up to a hybrid Civic and race him. You'll think a lot differently.

Would that be an EX or Si you raced? The EX Vtec is a joke, the Si, a bit faster.

Where I 'crib' at, they are basically all bark, no bite! With the exception of this one guy with a HIGHLY modded mid-90's Eclipse GS, I'd get up on 'em, with a vengeance!!!

Never underestimate a Civi, I ran 1/4 mile with a 88 civic that looked like crap and all banged up, meanwhile his the one did 14 sec flat.

I was running along side one a few times the last time I went to the track. It was an older hatchback. I figured I might be able to spank this ricer. I pulled out to a good lead, then he flew past. I think he ran mid 14s. It was a hybrid. He kept missing 2nd gear too.

The Civic EXs are just plain slow. They take alot of mods to get into the low 16s/high 15s. Intake/exhaust wont do it. IIRC, the VTEC is milder than the Si's.

No... The difference between the Civic EX and the Civic SI are the motors and the fact that the SI only comes in manual tranny. The EX has a SOHC VTEC motor and the SI has a 1.6L DOHC VTEC motor.

There are a few hybrid Honda's in my car club.. I do not recommend racing them unless you have boost or NOS.

I spotted an SiR out here last night. Anyone know what they got? He didn't seem to want to play - probably too new for him to really get on it yet.

There is no such thing as an SiR here in the United States. In Canada, there is a Civic SiR but it's identical to the Civic SI in the US.

That's funny how the Civic DX owners put SiR on their car... but isn't it the same concept as us Maxima GXE owners who put GTR on our cars?

I once saw an older body 240sx with a big a$$ ACURA sticker that was on the side and went from the back wheel to the front wheel that was hillarious. On the bottom of the door that is and he also had it in the front and back window some
boarder brother.

I shoulda known

I remember seeing the del Sol SiR's when I lived in Germany several years ago, so I thought maybe they finally made a US version for the Civic. It looked like it was right off the dealer's lot (new civic body style) so I was kinda wondering.

pick on a gst or gsx (or equivilant crysler/eagle models) and all you'll see are tail lights.

I would be more than happy too if I was turbo. But hey even non turbo what are the chances the mitsu will make it to the end without breaking down. When I get my 5.0 in a couple of months I will show the GST and GSX eclipse what a bone stock V8 will do.
