Are the white instrument dials an option with the 1993 MAX? Where can I get the white instrument dials that I see in all the pics?

They were standard on my SE. I don't think the GXE's had 'em. You're sure to find some in a junk yard.

I was in Autozone in NYC and I saw them selling White Gauges there, I am sure if there is one of these Autozone/Pepboys around you they can order them for you year Max. Take a look..

Good Luck!

you will need the white gauge cluster something I have a extra cluster from my totalled 90 max I will sell them, but anyways you need to find one out of a 89-91 SE no later because you have a gxe and it uses the vg30 engine setup the speedo goes to 125mph just like yours on the 89-91 se gauges but if you get a set of 92-94 se gauges the electronics will not work, im sellin the factory gauge cluster complete for 150.00

the 92-94SE guages actually WILL work with the same electronics
the only possible problem would be needing to replace the speed sensor from a VE as well
I've heard several people doing the guage swap without changing the speed sensor and didn't have any problem

yeah, I thought they might have a slight problem with the calibration too since it seems like the speedo would be off by a few MPH at least, but they've said it's hardly noticable when they tested it
or maybe they just THINK they're going that speed that it says and assume its right

but yeah, like I said, the right way to do it would be switch gauges and speed sensor together if you're gonna get teh stuff from a VE

As said above, the SE guages from the VE fits and works well with a VG. I did it last winter, and changed nothing but the 3 individual pods (to keep my original odometer). To test it, I drove on a straight, flat road, cruise set at 60mph. It took 181 seconds to go exactly 3 miles. That's only 1/3 mph off. If heard of brand new cars being off by more than that. Plus, idle rpm's are at 750, and shifts from first to second at 6000 rpm at WOT.

In short, it works great. Go to the bone yard, only cost me $50.
