New Sony Head-Unit...Having Volume Trouble. PLEASE HELP
#1
I have a 1990 Maxima Brougham and I just bought a sony black panel headunit. I really like the deck but there is one annoying problem. The lowest setting on the volume is loud, almost too loud to have a conversation with my passengers. Im just wondering if there is a way to re-calibrate the volume to make it quiter.
Thanks in advance.

you might want to check the amps for the rear speakers. the se and gxe both got amps in the trunk for the speakers. if you haven't by pass it yet, try doing so. i believe the gxe got one amp and the se got two amps in the trunk area for the rear speakers. or just try playing with the settings in your new headunit. good luck dude.

Well...
If you have the bose speakers, then each speaker is individually amplified which equals this problem. I know, i have the same problem. You'll get used to it.
You can:
a) Disable the mini-amps
b) Buy a premium wire harness which lets you adjust volume
c) replace all speakers

Replacing all my speakers is out of the question due to lack of money so I may try the first 2 options. How do I disable the mini-amps, and does this affect any of the sound quality or anything like that? As for the wire harness, how much do they cost and do they affect quality or anything?
thanks alot for helping me.
