Hi guys,

Yesterday in NYC there was a huge storm and I had the wipers on as you normally would under these conditions. I had recently bought these special Bosch blades that are supposed to be wonderful for wiping under any condition. Funny thing is when I have the wipers on the intermediate or moderate setting the wipers jump and shutter really bad back and forth. If I put it on the high setting that don't do it as bad, but it still does it a bit. And sometimes when they are coming down it sounds like they are banging into the windsheild or something. I am not sure if it is the blades or the motor or what the heck it is. I hope that someone can help, because this is really getting on my last nerve. I have everything in the car hooked up nice and when someone gets in and the wipers start jittering and making all this noise I don't look so cool anymore. If you need a better description as to what is happening feel free to e-mail me (pimpofbrooklyn@aol.com) or post something, I want to fix this problem ASAP.

I thank you all in advance.

I had a similar problem with my wipers. After the jitters, they developed a whine, and finally stopped working.

My problem was that the passenger-side wiper pivot froze. As it got harder to for the wiper to turn, they started acting funny and whining. Eventually, the ball joint between the pivot and the arm that connects to the motor popped out causing them to stop working entirely. All that was need was a replacement pivot (~$20 I think offhand) and some annoying labor.

Get yourself some Rain-X.......i live in south FLA where we get downpours at any time usually every afternoon......i find myself rarley turning on my wipers at all, its really something, the faster you go the better it works, it really shines when you encounter rain in the dark...........

I second the Rain X suggestion.
Been using it for years and it is great.
It also helps in the winter because the snow and ice are easier to scrape off. Not an issue in Florida.
Glad I don't have to do a lot of that anymore since my baby stays nice and warm in a garage.

I too am a rain-X supporter. One thing to keep in mind are the inspection rules in your area. If the wipers are skipping and not effectively cleaning the windshield you may have a hard time getting the car reinspected. If they still work well and the sound is the only issue, then rain-x away!

use rain-x window clear (comes in white bottle). it's like a deep cleaner that scrubs the windshield.
then get yourself some Anco wiper refills/blades. they are wayy better than bosch.
