How do I paint my brake calipers?
#2
check out kaleb's webpage for brake removal stuff..
http://www.kalebonline.com
go to tutorials.. I think it's on the second page.
he's got drawings and everything.
as for painting the calipers, once you get everything taken apart (rotor off and pads pulled from calipers), clean everything REALLY good with brake cleaner and a wire brush.. then mask off the parts you don't want painted.. masking tape and this morning's newspaper work really well here.
use high temp paint, spray on 6-7 thin coats (not a couple thick ones), and be sure to let them dry plenty between each coat. probably 15-20 min each..
usually I'll paint one side, then go paint the other.. whiel it's drying, I clean brake pads, then do another coat.. then get a soft brush and clean the inside of the rims.. spray another coat.. pick up extra tools.. spray another coat.. blah blah.. spray another coat..
then let it dry an hour or more before you touch them again. put everything back together (according to Kaleb's instructions) and that's it! you got purdy, shiny brakes!
oh.. btw.. I got your check today. I will ship the wheels thursday morning when I go back home. you should get them by about tuesday next week.
