So, entering a parking lot today not looking carefully enough are I turned a corner I hit a Honda Civic. The damage is not that bad, as I hit the brakes and almost stopped. BUT my grill is toast along with the hood latch and the center vertical core support piece. There is a VERY small wrinkle in the hood on one corner, hardly noticable. The grill is intact, just pushed in about an inch.

I already got an estimate, and it would be $300 to straighten or "relax" the core support. this would ineffect make the headlight and grill return to normal. It would not replace any bumper components, or repaint the bumer to fix the abraisions were I went under the Civic.

What do you guys think? should I have it completely fixed? I would have to claim it on insurance if I did... I'm 23 so that means rates will go higher. But I dunno, that maybe a moot point, cause this woman will make a claim.

The car has 93,xxx miles and I just put Eibach/Tokicos on. I LOVE the car and don't want to get rid of it.

Well, if the lady is going to make a claim to your insurance company, your rates will probably go up anyway. But for the fix, if your deductable is pretty high, you might just want to end up doing the repairs out of your own pocket.

It also depends on what your coverage is, do you have comp/collision? If not, the insurance co. will not pay for anything if it is your fault..... something to think about.
