I ran this last night at the meet in Fayetteville, NC. My previous personal best was a 15.50. And I have the same mods, it was a different track than last time and about 10 degrees hotter. And about a 5mph tailwind. Mods are: HAI, Y, UDP, adv timing.

Holy shiet you ran those times at Houston raceway park
. I think I know why they are so high. Did you drive around the waterbox or do a burnout on your street tires? If not that explains the 2.57 60ft. Also try manually shifting so the car shifts right at 6000-6100rpm. Since I'm in h-town next time you want to hit the strip drop me an email, I can help you into the 16s LOL. If it makes you feel better my 87 maxima with a K&N panel filter ran a 17.2 @ 78.5 with a 2.51 60'. However CAI equipped ran a 16.7 @ 81mph

i had a 92 se auto (ve30de) before my 98 maxima.
mods included:
*Custome Y-Pipe (before cattman & stillen came out with it)
*jwt pop charger
*jwt ecu
*jwt nos system w/.42 jet & piggy back nitrous module (65shot)
*trust exhaust
*built tranny valve body modded/high stall torque converter chirped 2nd gear
*JG port polished head w/ 5angle valve job
My best time without the head work was 14.1 @ 99mph
with the headwork 13.89@101mph
stock wheels w/ general tires, no passenger seat, spare or jack
reason i dont own the car today, i replaced the tranny 5 times.
couldnt hold the power even built.

I went back to the track a couple weeks ago, and got a 16.8 at 81.25. Better than my 16.9, but still disappointing. After I get my suspension done, I'm gonna go one last time except I will put my stock wheels back on.
I'm pretty sure the hot weather is contributing to my slowness. Everytime I have gone, the humidity has been bad. One night, I started sweating just standing there. Maybe I will hit low 16s during winter?

I don't really know. I've got a y pipe and hybrid intake right now, and was running the stock wheels and tires. I know I can get low 16s once the weather gets below like 85 and the humidity goes down.
Anyways, here is my slip:

i finally ran my 89 gxe at our local track, granted, my disgusting tires obviously made a huge effect on my time, so hopefully, when i get some new rubber for it, i'll be able to post better times. this was ran yesterday, outside temp was around high 50's, not sure on humidity, also, had 1/4 tank gas, full interior, and the stillen intake off of my 98 gxe, other than that, there's a cheap fstb.

i managed to get one good launch on the tires and the rest of them were like the second one. nonetheless, the 11.2 is still crappy. i'm gonna do some work to further get it running better since it's got 250k miles and probably put a wsp Y and test pipe on it over the winter, i'd at least like to get mid 10's out of the beast like the rest of you!!

New record for NA VE Auto!!!!
I ran my car at Kinston Drag Strip in eastern NC on 11/14/02.
It was about 50 degrees. The elevation is 47 feet. And the track was freakin slippery. I was slowed down when 2nd gear engaged due to loss of traction.

i ran the 1/4 in my 92 se 5 speed satnight with my gtech on the highway for the first time and ran 15.1 at 97mph i was wondering since i did a huge burnout if i should be in the high 14s with less wheelspin cause i also did 2 0 to 60 and first dropped the cluch at 5000 and ran 6.31 and then droped at 2500 and ran a 6.14 whad ya think for stock ve is this pretty good i would take it to the track but the track is closed thanks
I ran today at Fayetteville Motorsports Park in NC. Air temp was about 65 degrees. Here are the numbers:

Tire pressure was 25 psi front. The track had awesome traction. I could BARELY get a chirp out my wheels with a hard torque brake.
Same mods as above except for my timing was lowered back to 20* BTDC and I was at a better track.

This will be my car's first time to the track. I ran my 1991 SE 5spd a year ago and got 16.57 stock.
Now with a VE 5spd, I was hoping to do a little bit better, but didnt expect much.
Mods-
Hot Air Intake
Hi-flo Cat
5th gen muffler
Problems-
Some broken tranny bearings
Slipping clutch
worn struts/springs
Im thinking that my times will be slower than stock because of those things and the fact that the track is in NH with high elevation I believe. I am mainly going to run the car because I want to see before and after times. I am putting in a new Tranny, and Exedy Stage I clutch by the end of the month. I will run once again after the mods.
The water box screwed me up real badly and I was only able to get 2 runs in. 15.96 @ 86mph and 16.09 @ 87mph. Bad times for a VE 5spd I know, but my post above explains a lot. My 60' were terrible (2.4 and 2.7), but then again so was everyone else's. My clutch slipped through 1-2 and 2-3. It was like I was driving a VG auto.

I ran horribly on 11-14-03 etown, nj
Ok well I finally ran my ve for the first time. Here is the result. Conditions. Night time from 8-9:30pm. Stuck in traffic for 1 hour bumper to bumper but moving 15 mph, for 15 miles on the nj turnpike to the drag strip. Got no traction , and stock clutch was slipping badly as i redlined the gears to 6500rpms. and 4th gear suck for pulling but i was forced to shift to 4th before hitting the line at the end like 50 ft or so.
Water all over the track, all around the water box, forced to drive on the side where its was all dirty and wet
mods are listed in my sig. Yes i took out my subs, other than that i had a tool box, cd's, leather power seats, spare, jack, crappy tires.
First run was terrible. I got water on my tires via its all over the track. we both had wet tires and junk on tires, unaware until i lined up. Dumped the clutch at 5500rpms. 30 psi front. we both spun out crazy. Spun out at the line didnt go any where and redlined 1st to 35 mph, shifted quickly to 2nd and then rpms just dropped as i got traction, buckled at 35 mph and was off and got traction, udp reved quickly and my rpms just went up fast, shifted into 3rd and was catching up to the jeep. Readlined third i passsed him, shifted to 4th by the time i got to the line and beat him.

Ok, local track here (well, a town 5 min away from here) sucks (no official timer, timer is a guy with a stopwatch watching lights go on and off), so I wouldn't count on my results being dead accurate..
my '92 VG auto ran a 17.3 1/4, and a top end run clocked at 142 +/- 6mph (with my ghetto ram-air)
For the 1/4, I left my stock exhuast fully intact, but for the top end run, I unbolted the y-pipe at the manifold (this is not a good idea for street driving..sounds like a ricer on steroids)..
My first competition run was vs a Ford Probe, who burned his clutch out completely on the starting line (win by default)
2nd race was vs an '87 chevy s-10 v-8 swap w/ a 406..I got smoked by 12 car lengths
3rd race was against a stock '99 eclipse that was 1/3 of a car length ahead at the tape
final race was against a '96 v6 Camaro auto. I won by 2 car lengths because of the lack of driving skills of the competition.
All competition races were done on a 1 mile run track with 3 miles of drop off track.
I removed my passenger seat, subs, spare, "thing in the trunk", back seat, jack, console, door threshholds, pillar trim, half the dash, kickpanels, and floormats.
Keep in mind, this track is made of an old 2 lane road that flooded frequently, so it was closed and bypassed..the surface is less than perfect..my 1/4 time could be off by up to 1 second because of the lousy timing system (explained above)
Oh, all of this was done in early November, I just now got around to posting it..

I made 3 runs at Moroso Motorsports Part in Palm Beach, FL last week. They weren't as good as what I wanted. Everything is still stock so I'm going to run it a few more times to make sure that she's consistent and then i'll start making changes.
1st run: Me VS. Black Ford Lightening
60ft...2.591
1/4...16.123
MPH...86.09
2nd run: Me VS. Dodge Neon SRT-4
60ft...2.567
1/4...16.148
MPH...85.09
3rd run: Me VS. White Ford Lightning
60ft...2.593
1/4...16.085
MPH...87.27
I lost all three but I was only going for the times. I'm going today and I am going to see if I can get more than 3 runs in. I just want to break 15.9 and then I'll go from there.

Raced in the first annual NWMaxima.com Import Challenge (NIC) today at Woodburn Dragstrip in Woodburn, Oregon.
First time I ever legally raced anything, so I sucked at the bracket (ET) racing. I thought my best run was pretty decent, though --
here is my slip:

330 6.490
1/8 9.858
MPH 72.55
1000 12.770
1/4 15.224
MPH 91.94
Temperature was 81 degrees and the run was at 3:30 pm

I went out the other day and tried launching techniques. With the light flywheel and my crappy old tires, basically I either bog or spin pretty good. There doesn't seem to be much of a "sweet spot" for launching with my current set up. That still doesn't account for my p!ss-poor reaction time, but it was the first time I have ever been to the track.
With better tires I know I can get it into the 14s. I am also going to be putting on an UDP and the next time I go to the track I am taking out the seats.

No track prep and IIRC it was near 65degrees outside.
Worst run, I was alittle happy on the gas at launch and ended up doing a 2,800rpm slip-clutch launch.

When i had a Maxipad, i mean Maxima. Bone Stock ran from what i remember, a 2.2 60, 15.37@90mph.
This was a 92 VE5spd with thin tires, 185 65 15 Michelin mxv4's.
Modded it lightly after that, but never got better times at the track due to bad ecu output to the VTCs. Fixed the prob, but never hit the track again.

My best time with a 89 SE(K&N filter in factory location and advanced timing) with over 190K on the clock is a 18.59@74 mph(R/T 1.475, 60' 2.672) . This is the first time I ever drag raced before. Track temp was around 90.
This is my best run with my 91 GXE mods are JWT pop charger, warpspeed y-pipe, and custom cat-back with Magnaflow muffler.

am I the fastest?
Am happy. I did good on a track despite minor damage to the car.
I did a slight burnout staging to heat up the tires. Off the line I reved the engine up to 5k and slowly reliesed the clutch to avoid CV shaft snapping. I was able to get 2.0 in 60ft, not bad it could be better. I pulled 12.6@115 on my first run. Does that make me the fastest single cam maxima on this forum?
Anyway I whanted to dip lower with my time and improve the 60ft time. The second time I reved the engine and dumped the clutch fast. This time the car lounched better but when I shifted to second gear I heard a tump noise, I let go at that time and got of the track slowly. After examiniation I found out that my solid front motor mount bracket broke. I had to make custom one in order for the turbo to fit.
Anyway am happy with my time and I will fix the mount monday. I went there alone so no one was there to take a video, but am going again soon and will ask someone to go with me. I did not expect such a great run.
