I was just wondering ............can we have a sticky "best 1/4" thread like the 4th gens have?? After all there cars are faster than "most" of ours and almost everybody is faster than me....as far as I know, so can you see it in your heart to let me see where I stand against the other third gens?? think about it this way: it will cut down on the amount of "NEW BEST TIME" posts.

You guys asked for it, you got it. Just PLEASE keep it clean and to the point. if you wanna call BS or chat about times, do it in another thread so people don't have to wade through 500 posts just to see the 1/4 time they're in here for.

Also, it'd be a good idea to list your car/tranny/mods in the post, unless it's all already in your sig. (those of you with 15 page sig files need not repeat everything again)

15.84 @ 87.83 mph

I don't have my timeslip with me as I am making this post.

My car was an Auto VE with the JWT Poop Charger, Greddy Cat Back. Advanced timing, and a weight reduction(no chairs or stuff in the trunk). I shifted my self after doing a torque brake of about 2200 rpm. shifting my auto at around 6300rpm.

I have since put on a Catco Hi flow cat and PR CAI so I am hoping for some better times the next time around.

good time prime. we pretty much have similar mods. my 60 ft. was a 2.4 so if i can get that down to a 2.3 like you have a 16.4 will be highly obtainable

what were the conditions you ran the 16.4 in?

Hopefully I will get faster than that shortly. 92 SE 5sp, advanced timing, K&N air filter, removed seats + whatever was in the trunk for these runs. 2.2 60' with 22lbs in the tires.

I live in FL and in the summer the nights are hotter than most other places, so when I got to the track I ran my car right off the highway and ran a 16.5, that was the first time I ran with the CAI and since there was about seven cars per class we had runs with in 15 min of each other. I had half a tank of gas and I had the heater on full blast all the way up to the line and I was running consistent 16.5's and then more people got there and the car had more time to cool off and I started running 16.4's. Recently I competed at Hurricane nationals and it must have been in the area of 95 to 100 degrees out and anyone who went can vouch for me. While I was there I ran a 16.5 but I ran my highest trap speed 82.97.....the CAI continues to amaze me. I wish my car was 5-spd.

until i figure out how to do the signature,i got a 1990 pearl white SE 5speed ,painted middle part of grill black, got the 2000 SE badge above passenger side taillight,2000 17"s wheels, carbon fiber and cut shortned shifter, castol full syntec, removed fog lights,259,000 miles

Stock VG 5-spd is about 16.5 with a skilled driver and everything working to it's full potential. It's possible to get 16.3 with only advanced timing & intake.

Hmmmmm......

advanced timing seems to really be helping the VG autos break into the mid/low 16's without MAJOR mods(complete exhaust and CAI)......hopefully I after I get this fuel problem solved(and any others that magically pop up *knock on wood* ) I can try that as well!

Im hoping for 15.5 with advanced timing, and my stock tires. And just wait till the mods kick in (or Turbo)!

16.7 @ 84.96mph

Here are my numbers:

R/T ... .635
60' ... 2.588
330 ... 7.204
1/8 ... 10.905
MPH ... 66.98
1000 ... 14.051
1/4 ... 16.703
MPH ... 84.96

I can't understand why I ran so slow. My car was as cold as it could be the first run when I ran this time. The last three runs just got slower as my engine heated up. Maybe my intake is hurting me. Well, I won't run anymore until I get my Y-Pipe. Oh yeah, I placed 2nd in the Las Vegas Drag Strip Import Bracket Races. It was my first time too.

Finally got a couple runs in myself.. first run was a 15.145 @ 92.0mph, and second run was 15.03 @ 92.4.
Not too bad, considering my 60ft were 2.35 and 2.32.. just trim my r/t and launch a little and I'll easily be in the 14.8-14.9 region..

16.34 @ 86.36 mph

I finally got a chance to run my car (92 SE Auto) a few times. My best time of the day was my 2nd run. Here are the numbers:

R/T .522
60' 2.531
330' 7.033
1/8 10.653
MPH 68.27
1000' 13.733
1/4 16.344
MPH 86.36

My mods are an APC cone filter w/ custom adapter and WSP Mandrel Y-Pipe. My next race will be Dec. 1st, when I hope to have my ASP UDP installed. Addictive!

I ran my automatic 93 GXE Friday night at the Orlando speedway.
My first run I ran a 16.8 with a R/T of .864. On my second run I had a bad R/T of 1.2 but I shifted myself this time and ran a 16.6. Then on my last race with the same bad reaction time I ran a 16.4 also shifting. The mods I have are JWT POP charger, advanced timing to 19, dynomax muffler and I gutted my trunk and took out all floor mats.(floor mats alone weighed about 8 pounds!)

My 1/4 mile time just got better

I have a 92 Maxima SE Auto. I ran my car at the track today and the UDP did help a lot on my 60' time. But, it decreased my trap speeds by about 2 mph on average. I have APC cone filter, WSP Y-pipe, and ASP UDP. Here are my numbers with those mods:

R/T .605
60' 2.456
330' 6.876
1/8 10.463
MPH 68.90
1000' 13.521
1/4 16.140
MPH 85.64

I bumped my rev limiter right at the 2-3 shift on accident. So, it really didn't hurt me any more than a hundredth. I found out that my rev limit is at 6700-6800 rpms. I was running on 5 cylinders for about 2 minutes after the 1/4 mile run. I thought I blew my tranny. I was skerd.

It was 25 degrees colder than my previous race. So, I am guessing that the UDP only helped about .10 - .15. The rest was gained b/c of colder weather. But, this is just a guess. There are alot of things you have to take in account, so decide for yourself. Here are the numbers I ran last time with intake and Y-pipe:

R/T .522
60' 2.531
330' 7.033
1/8 10.653
MPH 68.27
1000' 13.733
1/4 16.344
MPH 86.36

Oh and also, I beat my personal record for reaction time. My best is now a .506. I have only drag raced about 12 times in my whole life. Also, with my engine being at normal temperature, I ran a 16.585 @ 83.90. Ouch, a cool VE is much faster.

I also found out that the Las Vegas Drag Strip is at 2010 feet at the starting line and 2022 feet at the finish line. That means, I am going 12 feet uphill through the 1/4 mile. Wow! I talked to a lot of the Civic guys and they all hate the track. They said they like Palmdale, I think. Well, thanks for reading.

Looks like I will have to advance my timing, and get a few more mods. But I am happy with this time for a auto GXE with only an Intake.

15.7 @ 87.7mph

I finally ran my car at a decent altitude. Today, I ran my car at the Kinston Drag Strip in Kinston, NC. The elevation for Kinston is 47 feet. The outside temperature was about low/mid 60's. I have a 1992 Maxima SE Automatic with APC cone filter, WSP Mandrel Y-pipe, and ASP UDP. Here are my personal best numbers:

R/T .527
60' 2.437
330' 6.697
1/8 10.188
MPH 71.017
1000' 13.089
1/4 15.731
MPH 87.797

My last time out at the track, it was in Vegas at 2010' high. Here are my previous best numbers:

R/T .605
60' 2.456
330' 6.876
1/8 10.463
MPH 68.90
1000' 13.521
1/4 16.140
MPH 85.64

Man, I knew my car could run in the 15's. The next time I might go out to the track is if it gets colder or if I get a new mod.

im very disapointed i took my car to the track today and the first run, i accidently went through the water box and my tires are nearly bald so i had no traction and ran a 17.0@81, then i decided to try it again this time going around the water...well i i had an awesome launch and was good untill it wouldnt shift into 3rd!!!(auto) bounced off the rev limiter so i had to let off..resulted in a 17.1@73!!!! i was ****ed, 73?!! thats like 19's mph lol. so i let my car sit for about half an hour thinking it might not be gay this time and try it again...still wouldnt go into 3rd...17.0@73

took two runs....first run I botched the start pretty badly, trying to line up at the light...still ran a 16.2946 @ 84....second run was my best though and nearly caused me to **** on myself(lol)....lined up perfectly on the line, flash stalled, tires caught perfectly and I ran 16.2914 @ 84....CAN WE SAY IMPROVEMENT!!!!!!!!! hands down the Y-pipe is the best "easy" bolt-on mod EVER!!! .4-.5 off just like that! ...still trying to work out the deal with my friend on the ECU and UDP...I'm pretty sure thats my 15.9(or less) right there!! here are the slips, 1st run is on top 2nd run on bottom-->

Time slip!! (click on "Slips")

some other times some of the guys in the club that ran were:

98 I30t 5spd--> 14.7s exhaust and intake
93 VE 5spd--> 14.9s Y, Greddy, intake
97 auto VQ--> 15.4s catback and intake
?? auto VQ--> 15.2s muffler and intake
00 auto VQ--> 15.4's stock

there was a '02 auto there too but he left before I came...I heard 14's though!

14.9 is easily possible with those mods.
I've only got an intake and UDP for power gains (ACT clutch for better grip), and I ran a 15.0 on my second run on a somewhat slow track. (KCIR). Had I run at Heartland or tulsa, I would be in the mid-high 14s. (14.7, 14.8).
so a 14.9 with those mods is very reasonable.

FYI, Bryan H didn't even have that much in the way of exhaust and he ran a 14.3.

As for burnouts, you shouldn't use the water box at all on street tires. you should do a short burnout though. the water box just lets the tires break loose easier at first. no need on street tires.
the short burnout will knock off any gravel or dirt on your tires.
On street tires, you want to keep tire temps fairly low, as street tires get greasy when they get hot. race tires get stickier when they're hot. big difference!

Completely stock with 16 inch OZ racing rims

My second run I popped the clutch and it redlined the entire race with the clutch slipping it never engaged to match the rpm 's. I even shifted up to fourth. Even when I shifted it still slipped. The clutch smelled terrible and i got 18+ second run. Anyone run into this? One hour later got the run I just posted?
