Yup

Its the door lock timer. I just replaced mine and it fixed the problem immediately. The piece is about $50 from Courtesy, and is located under the driver side dash towards the center of the car.

It is $64.82 from Courtesy, part #28450-85E00. It is two boxes connected by a metal bar. It says door lock timer on it, but not in an obvious place. Just buy the part, and when it arrives take off the dash cover beneath the steering wheel and you'll recognize it. It took 5 minutes to install once I had the panel off.

for those of you on a tighter budget, I've been fixing them for $30+ your old timer...so far I've done about 6, and all of them have worked flawlessly after the repair. email me for details.

I removed mine about a year ago and re-soldered all the connections. Took some time and ****ed me off, as I haven't soldered in a while, but it's still working great!

How did you resolder all the connections? When I looked at the Door Lock Timer, I see this complicated circuit board with diodes. It looks way too tiny to be resoldering. Am I actually looking at a door lock timer? I found this circuit board underneath and to the right of the steering wheel. I popped the dash underneath the steering wheel to find this black box. It had nothing printed on it. I slid the circuit board out. This is exactly where the "Click, Click" comes from. Is this the Door Lock timer? If so, is this my problem? Anybody, please feel free to write your diagnosis. Thanks for your help.

did you read the label on the top of the box? the one that says "DOOR LOCK TIMER" in big blue letters?

and yes, that's the board I'm talking about. anyone that knows how to correctly use a soldering iron can fix it. for those of you that don't have the time or ability, I've been providing you with this service, for 1/2 the cost of a new one. I've done probably a dozen of them now, and have an extra sitting on my desk right now. mail me your non-working timer and the money (read above), and I'll send you one that works in return.

So, you are positive that the Door Lock Timer is my problem? Just because it's clicking, does that mean it's broke? Or could it be another problem? I will consider your offer. Thanks for your help.

my locks will randomly lock and unlock when i try to lock the doors from the button or the lock itself on the drivers or passengers side door, i'm assuming this is my timer too.
let me know if this is it, i'm interested in one of your fixed timers.
thanks

Yes, both of your problems sound like the door lock timer. it's 99% the cause of all the door lock problems people see on 3rd gens.
for what it costs, that's an easy first step.. otherwise, it will take a good car electrics shop (or dealer) several hours to find and fix the problem.. and at $50/hr minimum for those places, I think $30 is a small price to pay.
