What exactly do these do? Performance gains or help keep the life of the tranny? I've heard some people say they are the first thing a GXE owner should buy for their Maxima..

They further cool the transmission oil, even cooler than the OEM one already does. All it is is a little radiator that you connect the tranny oil cooling line to, and it cools the oil another ~40 degrees. More info at www.mobiletek.net

Out of everything I've installed on my car, this is the mod that gave me the most scratches (on my hands). It really was a PITA, especially since I didn't have any help moving the radiator back. I really didn't notice any performance difference, but I installed it for precautions anyway to extend the life of my 10 month old rebuilt tranny It's good to do I think, and it's pretty cheap. I bought a Hayden model 403 from AutoZone for around $40-50 and another 4 feet of transmission hose which you need.
