Tranny ?

Would a tranny off a 96GXE fit on a 90SE..my friend wrecked his car and i wanna buy his tranny if will fit into my car its an auto.

Not sure...

But I wouldn't try it unless I had a 100% correct answer from a nissan tech. trannys are not something to be messed with.

I doubt it because they are made for a different block. The VG block will not fit the bellhousing of the newer gearbox.

It won't fit.....

The tranny is a different model and fits a VQ block. As The Max said it will not bolt onto a VG or VE block. What you should do is get an auto from another 3rd gen. Or do an auto to 5spd conversion. Unless you get your tranny rebuilt at Nissan its no going to perfrom like it used to. Mostly everyone here including myself has had problems with rebuilds.
