if you want to change the needle color, you have to take them off and scrape the paint off the bottom, then you can color them whatever color you want.

hey madmax 1991 question for ya!

i have the exact maxia as yourself same color, and everything.. GXE all they way.. amyways i wanted to know is you instrument planel the stock black faced one , cause soemone else replied , stating that if you have a GE maxiam you werent able to chnage the color of the lights fo rthe gauges... is this true if so, what did you do to get around the problem thanks for your time... ENJOYTHERIDE>>>

Actually, I have a 91SE Maxima. But what you can do is take the dash out of a SE and put it in your GXE. But you would have to take the new dash to the dealer for them to put the correct mileage on the new guage set. Then enjoy your new guages and bulbs.

He's got an SE so the Needles are clear not orange. The color of the bulbs behind the gauges make the numbers and needles light up the same color.

On the SE the guages are clear, so by putting in the purple bulbs, the light reflected onto the needles.
