i just put in the cold air intake, and want to do more, whats your guys opinion of adding a y-pipe (could i do that myself or would i have to be a girl and send it to the shop), i heard rear anti sway bars are good for handling, but last but not least the front tower strut brace, is it worth it? By the by, i know maximas have rear independent and a sway bar links them together so they act like one, so what is the up side to having a sway bar? Maybe im just being stupid. PEACE

mods

If you have tools and are moderatly adept at using them a y-pipe install isnt too bad. On your car, bolts will be rusty, and breaking off a stud is a possibility. Go to our web address (WarpSpeedPerformance.com) and look at instructions for y-pipe install. If this scares you a little, spend a few bucks and take it to a local shop. I tend to avoid the chain stores as they are usually more expensive. Get the FSTB, its a cheap mod that is easily installed and you can do it your self.I personally don't have the rear brace yet. I have read some people say, not needed on 3rd Gen cars. If some one knows please post.

personally...

my first mods will be a gredy or maybe brullen since no one has one cat-back exhaust, cattman y pipe and rt high flow cat....as far as bolt ons and easier breathing then doing your whole setup for exhaust would be first on my list......after that then do handling etc...personally i like to do it step by step...do brakes one month etc and then mov eon to a different part of the car...jsut my .02

Do the FSTB

Nardo,

Get the FSTB from Courtesy, it's definitely worth it. I got mine for just under $100 shipped (go with the cheapest method of shipping), and I received mine about 3 days before I was expecting it. You can put that on yourself, just make sure that you use a torque wrench when you install it, so you don't overtighten the nuts on the strut towers. The rear TOWER brace, i've heard tell, is useless and a waste of $$$ Maybe someone else can verify/clarify/deny these charges in their reply - it's just what I heard somewhere. The rear anti-SWAY bar, on the other hand, is a much better investment than the rear TOWER brace, although I can't remember who makes the rear anti-sway bar for 3rd Gen Maximas...

Congrats on the CAI install. I think I'm going to save up my dinero and get one of those myself. Which one did you pick up, and did you do the install yourself?

I'm planning on getting a y-pipe (one fine day), along with a good catback system after I finish paying off my ride and its finally ALL MINE!!!

My best advice is to listen to these guys/gals who have the stuff you want to install ALREADY. They're the experts, and they're all nice enough to share their experiences with those of us less-experienced with this monster of ours!

good luck, and as always

the cai install

yeah, me and my brother spent two afternoons on it, we didnt have all the tools they recommended, but handsdown the hardest part was the cut in the fenderwall, i finally used a powerdrill and drilled hole by hole all around. I heard you can get the FTSB for 50 or so, im going to hold out and find a deal. On a side note, is there anyway to correct tighten the bolts without a torque wrench? PEACE
