Nissan release high performacne vehicles at SEMA (very long)

taken from www.nissannews.com

LAS VEGAS (October 30, 2001) - Nissan today announced the following show cars for their display at the 2001 SEMA Show at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Except where noted, all vehicles will be on permanent display at the Nissan booth (#12424, Central Hall).

"Nissan continues to grow its presence in the aftermarket," said Jed Connelly, senior vice president, sales and marketing. "These seven vehicles are a great example of what the aftemarket community is doing with Nissan's 2002 line-up."

The display vehicles are a mix of trucks (Xterra and Frontier) and performance oriented sedans (Altima and Sentra SE-R) and have been tuned by some of the best known names in the aftermarket.

THE LIST:
Nissan/Nismo SE-R Concept
Nismo makes its U.S. debut in the form of the Nismo SE-R Concept. Tuned to the hilt with Nismo parts, the Nismo SE-R has been turned into a true track-ready vehicle. For the powerplant, Nismo adds polished headers, a sport air cleaner, oil filler and radiator cap, as well as a Nismo stainless steel muffler, S-tune clutch disc and cover, a modified helical limited slip differential, Nismo S-tune brake pads and stainless steel mesh brake hoses. For the chassis, Nismo has reworked the entire suspension system, with adjustable shocks and springs in the front and rear. Nismo has also added a front power brace and front sway bar. For aerodynamics, a front lip spoiler and custom Nismo Skyline GT-S high mount rear wing have been added. Rounding off the package are 18" GT-4 Road Wheels shod with Dunlop SP9000s. The interior has been accented with a Nismo shift ****, safety harness and shoulder belt pads. The Nismo SE-R Concept will be on display at the Nissan booth for the entire show.

Nissan/Nismo Skyline GT-R
Showcasing all of Nismo's S-tune capabilities, the Nismo Skyline GT-R is fully loaded with everything in the company's arsenal to add to the Skyline driving experience. Enhancing the engine and driveline are Nismo Iridium sparkplugs, a low temperature thermostat, Sport Air Cleaner Element, Oil and fuel filler caps, racing radiator cap, Nismo "Weldina" Stainless Steel muffler and front pipes, engine mount kit, S-Tune clutch kit, cover and flywheel, clutch operating cylinder, short shifter, 2-way limited slip differential, S-Tune brake pads and stainless steel mesh brake hoses. On the chassis, Nismo adds S-Tune adjustable front and rear shock absorbers/springs as well as front and rear strut tower bars. Rounding out the package are Nismo LM GT-4 Road Wheels with Bridgestone tires. The interior is jazzed up with a Nismo stainless steel and Carbon Fiber
shifter ****, cigarette lighter and key. The Nismo Skyline GT-R will be on display at the Nissan booth on Wednesday October 31 and Thursday November 1.

Stillen Altima
Taking hold of the bold restyling of the 2002 Altima, Stillen adds a large selection of its own performance and appearance enhancing parts to turn the Altima from a hot sedan to a blown out street machine. Stillen adds his own signature strut tower braces and brake systems to Eibach springs, creating a stiff performance suspension. Also adding to the Stillen Altima's performance is a set of dual exhausts and cold-air intake. For appearance, Stillen added front, side and rear body enhancements as well as a sharp orange paint job by Performance Paint and Body, Yokohama Tires and Stillen/Enkei GTV wheels. Rounding out the new look is a Classic Soft Trim Custom Leather interior and Carbon Fiber Interior kit. The Stillen Altima will be on display at the Nissan booth for the entire show.

NCTNA/Project X Xterra
The Nissan Technical Center, North America Project X Xterra is a fuel-injected off-road machine designed to look as good as it runs. The NCTNA Xterra features a series of chassis modifications including a Calmini suspension lift and a Rancho remote adjustable shock absorber system, as well as BF Goodrich Mud Terrain tires. For the performance side, the Xterra has added Eaton Electronic locking differentials (front and rear), a Walker Performance exhaust system, a K&N fuel injection performance kit, Calmini 3.6:1 low range gear reduction, plus additional items. For looks, NTCNA added a number of accessories that enhance the off-roading capabilities of the Xterra, including a WARN Industries XD9000i winch and off-road driving lights and Calmini bumpers with integrated skid plate for the exterior and Sun Performance Products Quick Air 2 Compressor/Tank System and Nissan Accessories water resistant seat covers and rubber floor mats, for the interior. The NCTNA Xterra will be on display in the Nissan booth for the entire show.

Rockford Fosgate Xterra
Last year, Nissan and Rockford Fosgate took the show circuit to another level with the introduction of a 2001 Nissan Frontier complete with a custom built high performance audio system by Rockford Fosgate. This year, Nissan and Rockford Fosgate have once again joined forces to create yet another show stopping, jaw droppin beast, a 2002 Xterra. The Xterra has taken Rockford's RTTI staff more than 1500 hours to complete it futuristic sound system installation, displaying the ultimate in craftsmanship and attention to detail. Showcasing not only Rockford's high-end electronics and installation expertise, the Xterra also has a one off custom paint job, custom wheels and tires, tinted windows, and other aftermarket accessories. The Rockford Fosgate Xterra will be displayed in the Nissan booth the duration of the show.

Axis Wheels Frontier
The Axis Wheels Frontier is a badass Baja machine with tweaked performance and hot looks. Designed to turn heads, the Axis Frontier adds Axis Regulators and BF Goodrich mud terrain tires as well as Twisted Tin custom front and rear bumpers, PIAA driving
and fog lights, Diamond bed liner and paint by Body Pro. On the inside, the Axis Frontier features Sparco Racing Seats, a Rockford Fosgate 1000-watt sound system and Stitchcraft Interiors. Finally, the Axis Frontier features a KTM 380 SX Dirt Bike, to get to those rare places the Frontier can't reach. The Axis Wheels Frontier will be on display at the Nissan booth for the entire show.

Art Schmitt Racing Frontier
The Art Schmitt Racing Frontier is the evolution of the CORR Series champion Schmitt Racing heritage with the continued performance of the Frontier. With a collection of performance and appearance enhancing changes, this Frontier will tear it up wherever it is driven. Everything from Eibach springs to Howe power steering components have been added to the Frontier's chassis to make the ride more performance-oriented. Engine and driveline modifications include the Nissan KA24 performance engine, G-Force racing gearboxe and Web Cam camshaft. Schmitt also adds American Racing Wheels and Goodyear Tires as well as a Boatec fiberglass body and Auto Meter gauges. The Art Schmitt Racing Frontier will be on display at the Nissan booth on Tuesday October 30 and Friday November 2.

Nissan/Jim Wolf Technologies Sentra SE-Turbo
Utilizing every ounce of its performance knowledge, Jim Wolf Technologies and Nissan transform the Sentra SE-R Spec V into the latest evolution of speed and style - the SE-Turbo. Accentuating the chassis are Progress Group shocks, springs and rear sway-bar, Energy Suspension bushings, Brembo 13" 4 piston front brakes and stainless steel brake lines, Axis Speed Six wheels and Toyo Proxes tires. Providing the additional power are Jim Wolf Technology's turbo system, ECU, pistons, ported and polished heads, intercooler, cams, clutch and flywheel; a Garrett turbocharger; Techniques hoses, Energy Suspension engine mounts; GReddy muffler and a Nissan Sunny N1 close ration, 5-speed transmission. Highlighting the external enhancement are HKS boost and EGT gauges, a Momo shift ****, Razo pedals, Flex Products Magenta Gold Chromaflair paint and ADM graphics.

Thanks!

Wait a sec!! Does the Altima 2.5 share basically the same engine as the SE-R? If that is true does that mean a turbo will be available for the 2.5 from JWT?? I heard there is a turbo in the works for the SE-R from JWT?

They will probably have somethings for at least the 4th and 5th gens, if not 3rd as well. They said products would be made for previously offered models. The Maximas would probably be the most likely candidate next to the S14 240SX.
