What's up gang I have an 89 max gen and was
wondering how many 3rd gen max's has had to
replace their computer and at what mileage?
I suspect that It's time since the max won't
start and has 184k+ on it.

Unless you do something bad to it the ECU shouldn't go bad. Besides that's the last place I'd look if the car won't start.

What happens when you turn the key? Does it make noises or anything?

Thanks HoJo for responding to my post I thought that
at the time that it might have been my ecu, but it turns
out that its my distributor. Have yours ever been replaced
and if so at what interval?

I've replaced my rotor, but it's been awhile. Don't know about the interval.

generally it's good to replace the distrib cap and rotor about every 5 yrs or 60k miles. if youv'e got 180k on yours, then you're doing pretty durn good.

I suggest new plugs, plug wires, distrib cap and rotor.
buy "regular" NGK plugs- don't need anything special here, as they're plenty good. plug wires, just get good ones. I recommend only Nissan parts on the distrib cap and rotor.
