Water leaking like a sieve...

OK... Hope you can help... My Maxima just started leaking coolant from the BACK of the engine... first started slow now it is leaking A LOT... It is only coolant, no oil, or ATF and the OIl and ATF are clean so the coolant is not mixing with any other systems. I would assume the problem is the WATER PUMP... but isn't the water pump on the passenger side of the engine??? Why would it be leaking down from the back of the engine???

Let me hear your words of wisdom...

if it is not a hose or the waterpump it could be a freeze plug
