Full transmission fluid flush

I just got back from Jiffy Lube. They changed my tranny fluid ... all of it, for $80. They hooked it up to their pump and kept pumping new fluid through until they got brand new fluid coming out the other side. When I went for a drive afterwards, the tranny shifts much smoother. I didn't think it could shift smoother, but, it did. Much better. I just wanted to share this with everyone.

Yeah, good thinking. They ran my engine while pumping in new fluid. After about 60 seconds or so, there was new fluid coming out the other side.

If your auto transmission shifts hard. It's not suppose to be like that. I thought I just had a sporty, hard shifting tranny at first. Then, I changed the fluid. And now, it's smooth as butter.

good to hear that...

Jiffy Lube you say?

Did you provide them with tranny fluid? I wonder if I can go there with some Redline fluid and ask them to use it. I want to get a flush done on my 98.

That's a good question. I asked them same exact question and they said, "No". I wanted to put some synthetic tranny fluid and since they didn't have that fluid, they couldn't pump it into my tranny. See, they have to have it in their pumps so that they can use a device called a T-tech something. It pushes the fluid through until it comes out the other side. But, I just got regular Dexron II pumped into my car. Yeah Jiffy Lube for $79.00.
