cat and HP

cat and HP

hey-

in a 94 GXE what kind of HP gains do you get. A friendtells me that puttinga stright pipe thought the ca doesn't work...why wouldn't it work...?

I'm pretty that while just a straight pipe where the cat went, would increase some hp up at the top end, at the low end u need some back pressure... so it would take away from your low end.

Not to mention if u did that u would have no hope have paaing emissions tests.

i wouldnt do it.

While cheap, and seems like a good mod, I dont think it is.

how would compesate and back back pressure on the 'low end' and I am not worried about passing emissions tests.

A lot of performance mufflers have variable backpressure...

actually the muffler on the 2000+ SE Max has variable back pressure muffler...

That should compensatea little bit for the loss of low end
