Last night on my way home I was on a 4-lane highway on the outskirts of St. Cloud, MN, when I passed some big Chevy truck with all types of mods...Stainless Steel pipes, stickers, springs, you name it. It was probably a '98-'99 model. (It's hard to tell, all that stuff looks the same to me). He had some sticker on his rear window about "laying pipe", whatever he wanted that to mean. As I got side by side with him, he sped up to keep even with me, until we stopped for a light. I wasn't planning on racing or nothin', but he looked over at me and revved his loud, beastlike truck. With one look, I dropped the auto down to 1st. It was like the movies...No other cars is sight, 10:30 pm, perfect scenerio. It was only him in the cab, whereas I had 2 passengers and a truck full of luggage...easily 800 lbs. cargo. With the green light came the longest squak ever out of my '93 GXE, and he kept up, until about 30 mph. Then it was history. I can tell he was going wide open because of his loud sound. I was at 60 mph in about 8 seconds, easily 1-2 seconds ahead of him. I didn't let off until 80 mph, and cruised for a while with him far behind. He tried to catch up, so I let him, and then smoked him again going about 95 mph.

Moral of the story...Maxima's rule...And don't even think about racing one with your big trucks, no matter how many mods. I was pumped the rest of the night...I could barely sleep. Take every opportunity to show the world the power of the MAX.

Nice kill...

I had a hard time with a stock Chevy truck up to 30mph...after that I only slowly pulled away, even with my mods: intake/Cattman Y-pipe/Greddy cat-back. What mods do you have?

Thanks!

I'm pretty happy with the way she performed last night. To answer your question, I haven't done any mods yet. I don't know if the previous owner did anything to it, but I haven't noticed anything. For some reason, it seems very quick for a GXE. Like you said, up to 30 mph is a little doggy, but when it's in 2nd gear (auto) climbing over 3500 rpm, it flys! I think I'll try to find an M3 for my next victim. I would like to see how well the '93 GXE performs on the strip with only me in the car, about 600 lbs. less cargo than last night.

For starters, I ordered a front strut tower brace and Tokico's all around. I should install within the next couple of weeks. I would like to put more money into mods, but I have a '96 Pathfinder LE to maintain as well.

P.S. Any of you guys in Minneapolis area?
