CAT on ebay...will it help? (link)

Hey, I saw this cat on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cg...ndexURL=0&rd=1

Will this go on my 93gxe anywhere? Easy to install, give more HP?

I'm new at the whole exhause system. Any insights would rock.

Matt

this "cat replacement" on ebay is nothing but a flanged straight pipe-or "test pipe" if you will. chances are your car will get a bit of an increase, but i don't think it's worth it. it will take a bit of backpressure out of the system, but that's not always a good thing! not only is it not legal, it's loud and dirty! i don't suggest buying this! you can go down to the local shop and they should be able to get you going for a bit cheaper...if that's really the route you want to take

Thanks for the insight. I won't buy it. Loud and dirty is not my style.

Thx again,
Matt

I can definitely attest to the 'loud and dirty' thing. I'm currently running one of those so-called "test pipes", and I can't wait until I save up enuff money to get my exhaust system redone. Yeah, it'll give U real nice upper end torque, but you move like a slug off the line. Just imagine gettin beat from a dead stop by a Festiva!!

Yeah.....

its a waste....Maximum 5spd had one and after a run with a Gtech meter he lost some time off his 0-60...not worth on a low power N/A vehicle and its illegal :Police ....but if you're looking for a high flow cat, go with Catco($70), Random Tech($200+) or Carsound($110), they will actually show BENEFICIAL results!
