Question about Front Lip

Hey, I was thinking about getting a Stillen front lip for my car. I was just curious about how it would go on. Do you have to remove the existing lower factory part of the front lip? Or do you just attach the aftermarket kip right to it. I never really knew if you have to take that part off or not. Because when I look at it, if you dont remove the lower part of the factory front lip, it would be way too low to put a Stillen on. Thanx!!!

If you look at the front factory lip/bumper I think it is seperated into 2 parts. Does the bottom part come off? Because I dont see how the aftermarket lip would attach to that bottom part.

yeah it just attaches to your existing bumper. Stillen recommends and gives you double-sided tape. people usually attach it using that and rivets or something of the sort...

It just sticks on under the bumper and around the fog lights (on the SE). It's a good idea to use good double sided tape along with stainless steel screws. IF you know how to remove rivets you should use them too.

When it comes to the Stillen kit

Rivets will become your new best friend, especially for the front piece. With the contour of the front bumper and the front piece wrapping around the entire bumper it's hard to attach it with double sided tape alone. I used as much rivets as possible in the wheels wells and fog light area where it cant be seen. Double sided tape will probably work by itself, but if you're in a city/state with rough roads and hills you might want to consider the rivets. If you're lowered, use rivets. I have Eibachs and the lip clearance just perfect for the average drive ways and parking stalls. Anything lower than Eibachs, and you'll start driving sideways over speed bumps and in/out driveways. Jim90gxe, how's the clearance with your front piece rolling with Sprints?

Clearance is good for now as I've only had he sprints on for 2 weeks. I'm guessing the height will drop some more. I can get up my drive way which has about a 15º incline.

for my front lip, I used a single screw on each side of the fog lamps drilled into the top of the existing bumper and screws onthe side by the wheel well. I didn't know how to use rivits and i put the kit on myself. the front lip hasnt fallenoff yet. the rear piece comes off everynow and then, but i just stick it back on.
