Painted Interior

soon to come pics from my 90 5spd, charcol grey with black interior, now with red acents. painted around the guages, door window controls, dash board bevels and air vents bevels, but not the air vents themselves, went all the way down to the shifter. also did the little rings that surround the door lock thingies, and the front window defroster vent, looks pretty cool but i need to re do some of it, ran out of paint...and can you believe that is it hard to actually find a can of kryol (sp?) paint in my area? wtf... speical thanks to Erik, tifosrv for helping me out and the digital camera. i'll post the pics tonight. still need to take pics of the final product

color is up to you. you WILL need at least (bare minimun two cans of primer, two cans of whatever color you want glossy paint, and at least one can of clearcoat / arcylic paint. and you're gonna need something to clean off all the armor all and other greasy crap before painting. you can do it all in a day 12+ hours if its 50-60 degrees out, the hotter the better, it'll dry faster. take your time, try not to over spray and cause runs. i'll have more pics need weekend hopefully

good luck

Wow, that looks great. What kinda of prep work did you do? How did you clean it? And "two cans of primer, two cans of whatever color you want glossy paint, and at least one can of clearcoat / arcylic paint" you put it on in that order?

No i didnt do the door controls, cause i was afraid people touch them to much and they would chip or somthin, tell me if yours do. I did do the vent on the far side of the dash if thats what your talking about. I took the cruise control apart to paint it. Its not hard, just got to remember how it goes back together. Yours looks good!

I'm in the process of doing mine over again. I just did it last week, the paint job came out ok, but the creamy color i used make my maroon, black, and tan interior look like "diarhea" accordin to my dad. Now i'm just debating a new color to start over in. Wish me luck.

damn they both look good...the blue and the yellow. i went over mine recently just polished it up and such and it looked almost brand new (not painted or anything, i'd probably spaz and mess it up..i'm a girl!) but yeah now it looks like **** again...coloring the interior is a part of a huge list of crap i need to do...

number one is get my damn speakers!!!
