150,000 not the most, but still running strong.....its a 1990

well i have a 1991 and i just rolled over 177,000 yesterday, the car has some problems, which i plan to post on a new thread here soon to see if anyone can help me out.

161K on a 92 SE 5sp. Since I race it, I break a lot of stuff. I have rebuilt the trans. and replaced the engine(overevved the first one racing at 150+ MPH!!!)

 

160k miles, 1989 Original Tranny / motor etc... still runs strong, doesn't burn any oil. Great car (with a few exceptions)

 

Someone named "willhunting" has over 256,000 miles according to him. I'm only at about 133,000 miles (214,000 km). See this post for more:Life Expectancy

 

About 198,000 on my GXE. Swapped the original Digital dash for a SE cluster. Who knows if it's accurate .

I saw a guy at the gas station who came up and was asking me about my car. He said he's owned several maximas. The car he was in was a '98 max with 185K miles. He said the one before that had 390K miles on it. Amazing! He was a traveling sales man.

 

149,360 and counting. I Started with 96,760 in January 2000. I have had problems, but all are fixed now and repainted. Car is nearly perfect.

 

I am only at 98,977. I found out that my next oil change is due at over 100,000 miles, I don't want to pass that mark.

I'm closing in on 140K. (I'm guessing that I have more than that since I've been having speedo issues since I bought my Max in June of this year - it had about 127K on it then.

My Max has been taking a breather for the last couple of weeks because of transmission issues. We'll see where I'm at around Christmastime. Bet it'll be close to 160K by then, as long as nothing else breaks (knock on wood!)

I think i got you steve, I have 225,114.9 miles and still
ticking on the original motor and tranny, although my front
engine seal is leaking. Planning a major rebuild at 250,000
miles if she can hold on that long!

 

I have 19700 on my Transmission amd it still runs fine. I blew the engine at 183000. That really sucked. But I put a 50,000 JDM engine in it 2 summers ago, so it has about 65,000 miles on it and it runs strong it is pretty fast too for a VG(LOL). My mom is driving it this week because Im driving the 95 Interga this week at school.

 

what does a jdm engine give you? any added bonuses?

 

It is basically the same engine but it was never used over here in the US until I put in my 89 GXE. I feel it is a little quicker because it has not been broken in yet. I try to be nice to it because I love my Maxima ans wait to keep it for awhile so I dont speed that much. I have hit 120mph in it once since the new engine. I was like holy crap. I am putting a intake on it soon and maybe a exhaust if I dont get to keep the Interga because it is too small for my mom and it is a 5spd.

How can you find out if your car has the original engine or transmission?

220k and what not!!! you guys are some old geezers when it come to milage!! I'm only at about 140k....and thats after three trannys(*knock on wood*), a few CV boots, 4 shocks, and a couple tuneups later, but shes still running strong as ever!!! I love my Max!

 

i have 181,000 this week on my 91 se and she runs like a champion!

 

I just went over 210,000 the other day.

 

well i aint willhunting but i got 260,000 and dont burn any oil,dont leak any,only problems are a p/s fluidleak and i need rear brakesmcar is strong though,i can occasionaly get a chirp out of 2nd with the 2k 17"s with 225's

 

Lots of high milage 3rd gens. My 93 SE had 106k before I got rid of it. Tranny blew at 86k, Cv joints, battery, tune up, lower control arms, cat, few other things were all bad. I loved the car but the problems were non stop. I have 59k miles on my new ride

 

Turned 253,000 miles yesterday morning. Oil/filter changed every 5,000 miles, timing belt every 60K. I've changed plugs, cap, and rotor exactly twice. No engine problems. Still idles smooth and runs well. Doesn't use oil, but gets it dirty a little quicker than it used to. Great engine!

i got my 92 max on its death bead in 98' with 112,617 miles three years, two cross country road trips (with a torn cv boot and a bad cooling system on trip one, and a blown camshaft seal on trip two i am proud to say i have a whopping 236,742 miles on my baby. trip one from washington state to new orleans and back. and trip two from washington to va. beach and back. this time next year sheel be on the autobhan in germany hopefully with full mods.

 

I only have 135k.

Word is that there is a VG with ~600k.

 

I just went over 155,000 yesterday

 

150,149 today

 

I have 193,000 on my performance machine

 

sweet a Ford Ranger Type R.....I sold mine 3 years ago, I really miss it!
