Nissan 300ZX Turbo Engine VG30DET

Just wondering how much custom fabrication and money a conversion like this would cost if someone were to drop this into a maxima.

I wouldn't buy it sight unseen... engines from Japan are often abused, since most Japanese go through cars very quickly. Oil may not have been changed, filters may never have been changed, etc. If you're buying something as big as an engine you want to see it first. Otherwise you're taking a very big chance.

If that was available in may I would have bought that for my gxe. Looks like all you need to do is fab the exhaust and send your tranny to level 10 . I wonder if the stock fuel pump would have to be changed too.

yah what the heck that engine has my intake manifold.. how come the z31`s in the us have different intake manifold ?

i always thought the vg's intake manifold design was kinda inefficient because it colllects a lot of heat from the engine.

well even if you do decide to buy the V-spec VG30DET i think $850 is way toooo much I can get one for $650 and shipping about $100.

Seems that someoone doesn't know their stuff. The ebay page states that it's a SOCH, or single cam per bank, but the Engine code states otherwise VG30DET. If it was a single cam, it would in theory be a VG30ET.

Yes, it's a SOHC by looking at the pics. My VG30ET looked clean too untill I removed the water pump and rust poured out! Even if it is a company that is selling this, they won't gaurentee the turbo to work or anything else. Midwest told me if I pulled the cams, it would void their warrenty. They screwed me anyway, it's been months and I'm still venting, sorry! Just be careful.

I'm not the smartest person in the world, but you can tell it's a SOHC by the picture.

Hmmm..

Manufactured by TOYOTA??!!?!?

I wouldn't consider the engine b/c the guy can't even get the manufacturer right. Imported from Japan... Nah, he probably pulled it out of his old car.
