Are you talking about the 2k2 maxima? They have this stupid fail safe i found out yesterday... you could never pull the 1/4 mile with it! My bro tried flooring it.. the tires spun like crazy which was hot.. then the car just stopped... and then "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" light just came on... doesn't wanna leave either!! That's stupid,
Maxima Ad: "2002 Maxima 255 HP!!!!!! 3.5 LITER!!!!"
what they forgot to tell us: "You can only use about 190 HP out of the 255..."

Ok so why don't we just get a 4th gen max?

Does anyone know how to shut the Engine Service Light off? we tried resetting the battery... no luck!

why did the light come on? maybe this is just a special circumstance. there's no way that nissan would be that dumb and make it so you can't open up the car. . . .

They put it as a precaution... which is stupid... sorta like saying its a warning that you did something wrong....

The manual says this... "If the Vehicle is driven under extreme conditions, such as excessive wheel spinning and subsequent hard braking, the fail-safe system maybe activated. This will occur even if all electrical circuits are functioning properly."

Why did Nissan do this? I have no idea.... it is stupid!

i ran a 15.2 with a garbage clutch that was slipping. like when i hit the gas it would slip 1000 rpm, but i put a new one in so i should be close to 14's. i'm askin 5500 for my car. if i can get that, i'll sell it.
