I've put 110,000 miles on my 93SE and just discovered that some of the shielding plates are rusting off the exhaust pipes. There are a few other parts that look like they'll need replacement too. It's all original equipment. Question...are the after-market parts used by typical muffler shops OK for another 40K miles? Should I insist on Nissan parts? Comments? The car is fun to drive and a second rate replacement exhaust system is not OK. Thanks!

it depends on what you're looking for....if you don't want performance than OEM will suit you fine....it may be cheaper for you to find a local shop that does custom work for you....in the past ive found that "corporate" places like meinekei (sp?) aren't too great and locally owned places have done great work...

what heat sields have been coming off...my cat. convertor one was rusting so i just ripped it off....it won't hurt anything...i just won't park over dry leaves or anything
