another speaker thread

So I logged on at 10pm last night, and started searching, searching, searching, but to no prevail.
1991 maxima, bose speakers all around
1995-97 bose deck, rewired using ALLDATA wiring diagrams, none of these other diagrams had the right wire colors, so all that being done, I only have sound out of the left front speaker, the others hum, but don't produce more than a whisper of sound. amps bad? wiring fubar? can you help, lemme know...

Were the speakers working fine before you swapped in the 4th gen HU?

If so,then i would suspect your wiring job as the culprit.

If not, then you may have gotten ahold of a bad HU,or the speakers and/or amps are toast.

HU seems to operate that one speaker just fine.
The wiring for the speakers, in the doors and trunk, were already done, aswell as the wiring for a stock deck, which I had and it did the same thing. I guess I could always hook up the speakers to the FR LT plug to see if the amps and speakers are ok. I'm pretty sure its the amps but I want some characteristics of bad amps? humming noises? faint speaker sound?? that about right?

Yes,a constant buzzing sound is usually a sign of bad amps.

I am giving the car to my g/f's brother after it is operational, in return his mother is giving me a 2006 hundai sonata, no maxima by far, but its a stable economical vehicle, which is what I need. So if they want to upgrade the stereo its up to them.
