So I picked up an ECU off a 1993 GXE from the JY. I think it had DCC but shouldn't matter right?

I'm looking into replacing it today. The lil screw on the one I pulled from the JY has a clear plastic on it and it looks like it hasnt been tampered with before, does that sound about right?

Can I just unscrew, plug, and play? or is it something crazy like unplug batt and then do previously mentioned?

take the battery neg cable off before touching that ecu harness, unless you want mashed potatoes and slaw with that.

Oh well, I'm changing my ECU tomorrow after work or after school depending on the time I get off work. Lets hope that fixed whatever lag I've got.

manumatic is TOUGH to do. shift pattern is AB, B, --, A for the solenoids active in the forward gears. Good luck seting up an up/down controller for that. I'm working on a manual switch for each solenoid and just hit the right one for what gear i want. I have done half the wiring for this, and I got mad enough with the darn TCU wiring to even imagine what BlooToof went through.

Everything took 25 hours on and off for a whole week. I had manual seats and got some cheap power leather in excellent condition so I looked for the connector under the current seats at that time and it wasnt there. I just tapped into the cigarette lighter for some power but then fixed it to the back of the fuse panel, thats actually still pending as we just wanted to put everything back together.

My pump still works, but I've had to replace the nozzles a few times due to the tips getting clogged with gunk.
I also had the rubber gasket around the pump go bad right after I bought the car (10 yrs ago).. $3 part, 1hr labor. yaay. Least I didn't have to pay someone to fix it for me.

Both the pump and the nozzles still function quite well. My 4th gen however I had to get a safety pin and poke the nozzles to clean out the gunk, they spray like new now

$tealership. They're like $5, but it's the hassle and wait for the part that sucks.
If you're lucky they'll have one in stock but don't count on it.

lol it would be my second one.. Caped got the last one I had... I mean technically the trans I have in my 3rd gen right now has 19k-20k miles on it.

I might just work on pulling the trans and swap parts, if I decide to go with it then cool, if not.. I'm sure some people here would like some parts for sale. It all depends how long til' I get the 97 running efficiently and whether my mom and I will share the 3rd gen (she doesnt drive stick)

Shoulda bought mine when I was thinking about selling it, John. Right now I haven't driven it in 6 weeks. The power steering pump died right before went out of the country for a month. Finally bought one earlier today and will put it in next weekend. Next up after the holidays: pull the tranny, take it to the local Nissan specialist, and have him put in a new input shaft bearing. What sucks is for the cost of those two things I could have bought long tube headers for the Corvette...
