I heard it might cost between $200-800 depending on the shop and the quality of the leather, and labor charges. I'm getting custom leather and got a quote for $575 including headliner.

take a look at the Katskins or however it's spelled.. they're very good quality, and you can install it yourself. about $600/set I believe.

looks pretty good matt,i think im gonna weigh my options, imgonna go to a shop and get a quote and then price up the "katskins" or whatever theyre called then gettin them installed,id rather not do myself because when spendin that much money id rather it be done by a pro, said on the site an experienced person shouldnt take more than 4 hours plus they have all the tools that they need

I was looking at doing that, but a strange color of leather wouldn't really go well with my whack maroon dash, doors, etc. so I'm gonna get a full 1000+ interior job eventually...

Quick question... did any of the 3rd gens come stock with the leather on the door panels? Personally I have only seen cloth on the doors, no matter if the seats are leather or not.

Leather Interior

Why dont you just go to your local auto wreckers and see if they have any SE leather seats. You could proboly even trade you old seats in on the leather ones to make the price even more affordable

I am almost positive that the leather door panels only came with aftermarket leather seats

I've had stock leather in both my 89GXE and 93SE and both have cloth panels

The ones that I've seen with leather on the doors have a different looking stiching design on the seats - horizontal bars kind of. The stock ones are pretty much flat. SEs have a seam right down the middle, GXEs are sectioned horizontally into about 3 panels or so. It's hard to describe, but you can tell a GXE/SE seat by its stiching if you know what you're looking for.

Leather door trim

Mine came with stock fake leather door trim, where the cloth usually is. Whatever Nissan used for adhesive did not quite do the job, though. I've had problems with it pulling off. I have only seen it on other Satin Pearl White's with tan leather.

Yeah, I had some gray cloth seats in 91J30 and got some black leather seats from a 92 max from a junk yard for 350 in excellent condition .

Yep, mine has the fake leather stuff on the door. And like Isaacm's mine is seperating fron the door. Anybody ever tried to fix this?

and didn't like the cloth color underneath it, plus all the glue was still sticky...don't dare touch with the arm, unless your hairless. I bought some new vinyl, and installed that with 3M super spray adhesive. It sticks well, but about 8 months later, the vinyl is fading into an ungodly color. It matched the tan leather fairly well at first, but now it's not good.

To fix it, I'm going back down to the fabric, using simple green, or goo gone, or something, and try to get all the glue out, and then dye it with a matched color. Just a crazy idea. I could have a leather shop do it too.

Anybody else have a good idea? I'm open for suggestions too...

That looks like it may be aftermarket work, but looks good. My Max had it tight against the contour of the door surface, not bunched. I've seen one other Max that looked like your doors, and that was work from a leather shop.

Yep mine's tight against the door, except for some of the edges And since we've owned the car since new I know it came that way.
