Installed LEDs today...

So i finally got around to installing the LEDs in the dash lights and i added a couple to light up the interior. I got 100 blue 5000mcd LEDs off ebay for 11 including resistors and shipping from that guy everyone used from hong kong. Good price for sure. So heres what it looks like.....

p.s. its the camera that makes it look greenish, theres no green when ur looking at it, just blue.

does he sell tri-color RGB or RGA LEDs too? I'm trying to do some ... special stuff with LEDs. How much did 100 LEDs run you?

lol its not that bright, allota that extra brightness is due to the camera. Its a nice toned brightness.

And 100 LEDs ran me 7 bucks with resistors included plus $4 shipping from Hong Kong so $11 total which is cheap.

I dont know exactly wat he sells but heres the link to all of his items... and of course theyre other sellers of LEDs on ebay but i have heard good things about this guy and i have used them with no problem as uve seen....

Blue kills your night vision.

well i mean once again theyre relaly not as birhgt as what the picture shows, the cheap camera blurred light everywhere. The only "bright" parts are the switches because i scracted the green tint off of the symbols but now i think it might be too bright so i might take the switches off my other maxima so i can have that tint back.

sweet found what i wanted for $0.99 first bid. 5x RGB 4-lead LEDs. I won't say what i'm using them for unless it works. But if it works, it's going to be pretty neat. And I hope they are bright, because that will help me.

Meh looks like rice. I'd have to see em in person to give you my opinion. As for goons comment on the blue, how accurate is that? I've got blue LED for gauges and havent noticed any impact on my vision. Was it a joke? lol

I have blue leds in my gauges I wish they were a bit brighter so they looked more even. I would really like a good crisp bright white though.

red and blue both suck imo. my brother's radio has a choice of red or blue and i hate them both. Too saturated. I like green or pale colors, but not bright colors.

Ducks look good, mine had no cold spots like his until one of my single wedge LEDs went bad so I had to replace it with a different type of LED causing a cold spot. I didnt feel like ordering from superbrights all over cuz shipping is 5 bucks regarless whether its 1 bulb or 20.

dude, that's WAY to bright. You need an output of 1000 mcd. It looks like you're using something more like 7-10000 mcd. The 7000 mcd would be alright for a climate control swap, but other than that it's WAY too much. Also, instead of putting a light by the change holder, try to integrate it into the map lights like I did. That's what beamers and acuras have, and it's nice because you don't see the light and it casts a nice ambient glow on everything. You can also wire it to power on only with your headlights, or with a switch hardwired into the acc-on power wires, so it doesn't stay on when you turn off the car and forget to flip the switch off.

im using 3000 or 5000 im not sure but its really not that bright the camera really made it worse. also the switches were really bright cuz i took off the tint but now that back on and its less bright. I was actually starting to work on the map light led earlier but i blew the fuse so i just said f it. and i theyre wired to be on when the parking or headlights are one and go off whenu turn them off. And the dimmer switch controls all the LEDs too.

I'm actually not using any LED's at all.

I've tried about every type of 194 bulb out there. These are the best I have found. They are "Polarg B1 Hybrids" these are by far the best bulbs I have ever seen! You can slightly see them in the middle of the day. There is absolutely no coldspots. They used to be expensive, I paid about $25 for 4 of them back in the day (3 years ago). These have a really nice bright white output, with a slight blue hue. I can get more pics if you guys want. I highly highly recommend these bulbs. Here is a link where you can get a pair for $7. You need 2 pairs, a total of 4 bulbs.

Was this question for me?

I'm gonna answer it anyhow, I have the single wedge LEDs that look like this O and when one went bad, I was able to get another blue LED off a local 4th gen org member, which indeed was 5 way LED as you neatly illustrated above. Dont get the 5way LEDs, those suck for this

yeah thats how mine are wired up as well. It shouldn't be any brighter than stock...just blue instead of the old green color.

What would the 5 way LEDs be good for? Ones I put in my trunk and shifter seem to do a pretty good job.

Thats what I'm trying to figure out as well. As for doing a pretty good job on the shifter...I'd have to see a picture because I have one in for the shifter and yes its bright but only a couple letters, not all

I'd like to have one to illuminate my climate controls. Its funny during my meth days I used to think the climate controls were telling me something, like if they were illuminated everything was OK, but if they flickered out something bad was going to happen.

In your meth days? I was just watching an "Intervention" about that shi*t....it does some pretty bad stuff to a person. No wonder you thought your climate control was telling you messages!!

I guess I forgot to mention that I spray painted the shifter light compartment chrome silver inside. That seemed to help quite a bit.
