I envy you guys for having garages so you can do that work. As long as my max doesn't break down, I can start saving

Thanks Alex!

The paint to get is "cast iron" color duplicolor 500 degree engine paint. It's actually like a metallic grey. It's funny because I painted the cast iron block with "aluminum" color paint and I painted the aluminum intake manifold with "cast iron" color paint. lol...

I'm planning on getting an emu, custom equal length headers, new exhaust, methanol injection, 150 shot jets, a tune, drag front suspension mod, stock front brakes, 15x8 front wheels, and some slicks before I go to the track.

who's doing the headers?
(you'd be better off with cams for less money...)

I'd like cams as well... Did you get your cams yet?

Headers (like vq cattman/hotshot) should help quite a bit and will make the exhaust sound a lot better. I'm going to have a local shop make them. I'm not sure how much they'll cost, but I figure that they should cost about $1500.

$1500 is a conservative estimate. expect more by the time you're done with it. more like 2-2.5k.

no cams yet. because of the Z32 pistons in it, I don't know/trust the piston-valve clearance on this engine so I'm waiting to grind cams until I know how much room I have.

a set of custom grind cams and valve springs (again custom) should cost you ballpark of $1000.

for drag racing at the speeds he does, the stock should be adequate enough, but I agree.
are you at least running better pads?
if so what kind?(haven't seen you mention it, but i may just be blind)

for anything below road course use, stock rotors with Axxis MetalMaster or Hawk HPS pads is absolutely adequate.

even in full-race spec, the stock size brakes are fine if you use the proper race compound brake pads. hawk black or blue on stock rotors is what most cars in production and prepared class racing use.

I currently have Jeffy's front BBK and Z31 rear rotors...

For drag use, I need stock brakes to run smaller wheels with slicks...
