bmw conversion successful!

i just wanted everyone to know that i got my bmw lights in. it was very crazy trying to figure out how to cut the OEM bracket even with all the pics i had. WE got it to fit quite snug. i have to still find some way of holding the lights in place permanently. It isnt moving far becasue my grill and side markers are holding it firm. but i still want to line them up a little better and screw womething to hold it. ill have pics posted within a week. if anyone has any questions let me know. and if you know of any good bracket ideas let me know also.

THANX to all that helped!!!

good to hear..did you cut the sides of the bracket too? mine arent in the greatest because i dont have the right tools.. i couldnt konck out the side of the brackets so my lights stick out a quarter in on the the car puching my corners out a bit.. on of these days ill get that fixed when i can use the right tools..

dnas420,
To fit them into our brackets, I cut 4 rectangular pieces of sheet metal (about 4" x 1.5", but make them as long as you need them) and put one on top and bottom of each light (about the 3rd "ripple" on the bracket over from the sidemarker). I attached these with some screws. This ensures that your lights won't pop out when you're driving. Good luck.

Brandon,
The tools I used to cut the brackets were so ghetto: vise grips, pliers, and a drill. Oh and a pair of rose clippers came in handy too...hehe. For the cuts, I would cut two slots and then use the pliers/vise to bend and eventually break the bracket; it actually worked quite well.

..

i used a demel and screw drivers and a big *** hammer. my grill has alot of tension on it, im guessing it has to do with the pressure from the lights. Was there anything by the corner light that might give it more room if i remove it or cut it? my apc hyper whites are the POOP! but even though my headlights are level they are also kinda straitght ahead and i want them to point kinda center. It looks good but i still have not made a bracket. but my lights are in there snug. so ill get some pics up real soon.

the BMW lights are DOT approved, I would see no other reason why the lights would be illegal.
