Random stalling
Earlier in the year I went to the tail of the dragon (5-20 to be exact) and on my last run back up the max stalled, and I couldn't figure it out. (tailofthedragon.com its an old highway with 318 turns in 11miles)
The fuel pump wasn't running. It ended up being 2 fuses blown in the interior (middle of right column I believe) and I had to un plug and replug in the two relays in the trunk. Then I drove home and no problems.
Then I stall the car a couple weeks later (cold and just trying to lower starting rpms to reduce clutch wear) and it does the same thing. unplug/replug relays and its fine. Does it twice more, but its been a long time and hasn't done it in the last 2 months or so.
I'm guessing something trips the roll over emergency cut relay in the trunk for what ever reason, but it never used to do that.
And the car is a 90 se, originally auto, swapped over to 5 speed.
The only on factory wiring was for a in car phone and I just took that out last month and it wasn't attached to anything.

I had a similar problem. I tested the fuel pump relay and it tested fine, but still had hesitation problems. Turns out the relay was still bad. Got a new one, plugged it in, and haven't had a problem since.
fuel pump relay in the maxima's are located in the trunk to the right of the right tail light housing under the carpet on the wall you will have to remove the trunk carpet panel plastic there and pull the carpet away from the wall and look right there near the trunk latch lock and unlock piece. and its one relay only.
