Stillen Ground Effects Attachment to Bumper

So I bought the kit and didn't receive any instructions. I got 4 rivets and 4 course thread screws. So what I'm wondering is where do i put the screws/rivets to hold the lips on and also the side skirts too.

I know that you rivet/screw it to the bumper, doesn't take a genius to figure that out. I want to know where on the bumper is it riveted/screwed? at the corners, the middle?

yeah if you want an ugly kit...your average joe cant hide screws or rivets along side the kit nor do they know how (need a flexible plastic repair kit to use as filler) and besides its really too thin in that area to correctly counter sink the rivets/screws to do it correctly anyway...it can be done but again not something for someone asking how to install it on a forum.

Just put the screws in the inside corner behind the fog light. That way its not noticeable and will secure it...use rivets on the inside lip where its tucked inside the fender well. Use a good 3M double sided tape (not what was provided by Stillen) to secure the sides of the kit. If done right you will not have a problem with the lip staying on.

teh funneh.

but yeah, like micheal said, rivet it up on the inside corners, above the foglights and in the wheel well, and you should be good....that's where i had mine attached before.

on stillen's double-sided tape being crap.

except I wouldnt use the rivets on the plastic bumper unless you can get behind it and put a washer on it (hard to do in that location) instead I would use the screw in the plastic bumper in the inside corner and the rivets into the metal in the fender well.

It really depends on the type of rivets you use. The standard rivets that just bulge can pull out of the plastic bumper but the ones that split into three arms would hold up fine in the bumper. I have only seen those on really big rivets though.

oh yeah, i did use washers on the second install(behind the bumper).....as my first install without washers failed and destroyed a stillen kit. good save micheal

when i still had a 3rd gen. my kit never came with any hardware.

I did remember going to napa to buy a roll of urethane. (windshield glue)
cost $15-18
This beats trying to squeeze urethane out of a caulking tube.
