Okay; This is my first shot at this process... So here goes..

[/IMG]

And....

[/IMG]

In both images, which I cannot see at the moment for some reason, the Fuel Injector pressure relief valve I spoke of (and possibly called the F. I. Pressure Regulator) is in the upper part of the image. These shots, amazingly enough-- were taken right off my flatbed scanner with an old T-shirt thrown over the parts for background. In one view, you can see the port for the vacuum hose that controls the operation of the valve. The rest of the hardware is the front and back injector rails with injectors still mounted.

"Most Replaced?" Over the more than 8 years I've owned my car, I have most replaced the window reglators. I have replaced them all at least twice. Otherwise, the most replaced part has been fenders.

Here's my question, what's the most significant part(s) replaced on your car?
I have 3: 1. Complete rear end of car (entire section from seats to rear bumper). 2. Engine/tranny swap (VG30ET and VE Tranny), and 3. replaced cloth seats for leather.

I have installed at least 3 fenders since owning the car and need to currently replace both = 5 fenders when done. All but one replacement has been due to people hitting my car.

I've been lucky, the only rust on my car is a quarter size area near the front driver's door hinge.

I suppose after some thought, I've also replaced several headlights. I've replaced both headlights 3 times. Each instance has been due to installation of different sets of BMW lights (US spec, ebay, Euro spec).

Wow, a lot of window regulator issues here, none of mine have given me trouble. Never had any fuel pump issues either.

Before I repaired my oil and p/s fluid leaks, I had the LCAs replaced twice. I now have enough equipment to do this myself so I'll probably do LCA bushings for the final time once it gets warmer.
Replaced the alty, and had it rebuilt 3 years after.
Rebuilt starter twice, 2nd time was on warranty. I now keep a spare starter
Coilpacks have been replaced all the way around.
5/6 injectors.
Both VTC springs/covers.
Almost every rubber hose.
Replaced the A/T power switch like 3 times, and repaired the clock more times than I can remember.

I wonder if there is a link between the number of window regulators replaced and owners who live in warmer climate areas. Or...Could it be
we frequent too many FAST FOOD drive through windows???

Guilty as charged..

I've replaced the oil pressure sender twice due to leaks and this car tends to eat CV boots.

Ive been a 3rd gen DD for more than 13 years, not sure how many miles Ive been through, but I have NEVER had to replace an injector, even on my max that I bought new and sold at 250k. (although, all my maxs have been cali spec so maybe there is a difference there?????)

That aside, the alternators have given me a lot of trouble. One year after replacing three in a row, I decided to run a 2 gauge ground from the alt to the frame and a 4 gauge from the alt positive to the battery. That was only about 8 years ago, but I havent had to replace the alty since then.
I highly recomend this to anyone have alternator problems.

EDIT: Other than the alty, I have had no recurring problems, except for motor mounts and tires but thats mostly due to extreme abuse.

I did a ton of preventative maintenance so I didn't really have any parts go bad

I'd say axles on an installing/uninstalling basis, not so much replacement.

What goes bad 4 me....

1) Tires mostly, because the SE has that out the gate power. Other than that it is the basic starter, and ignition.

The window regulator switches go bad a lot. I guess due to the rain.

I think there isn't one 3rd gen owner, any motor, model, etc. that hasn't had to replace a damn WINDOW REGULATOR.

I have only had to do one on my car, but I had to do 3 within a week, all at different times on my friends vg.

I've replaced my fuel injector o-rings about 15times now, 9 were parts store. 6 that are still on and working are from dealership.

Me as a Wiking -sailor seem to have here lots of soulmates ... Yall ppl (!) really like sailing: vehicle shocks start dangling in the wind at 60k, no way around it. After that, you are sailing -and- hoping for south winds to carry ya happily through the ditches... "...And when the south wind blew softly, supposing that they had obtained their purpose..."

Shocking Facts:
When after '40k miles', shocks have lost 50%, braking distance is longer by one vehicle. (From 60mph to zero) = in emergency, vehicle will become 2ft be shorter ... Also, On slippery surface, you need a tractor (hello good neighbors to pull ya out from snow. ... Wheel traction is lost as wheels, the rubber *****, spend most of time airborne, jumping up/down. Tires will wear and become angulated, nice drive... All b/c brave Sailors are "Saving" on shocks.

.............................................

Below my small 5yr trip:

- T-belt Gates5146 41133x1, tightener roller
- Three accesory belts

- NGK PFR5C-11 2271 Laser Platinum x6

- Brk pads all4
- Fog ligths (Hella), one bulb swap
- Plastic wheel caps on winter steel rims
- TPS repair
- Oil 12L, 3 Nissan filters
- Healight bulbs H4 3x
- Battery 3x
- C-TEK battery charger
- KS bypass resistor, 5c
- Hood struts 2
- Alt Rectifier, 2x Regulator
- Brk fluid flush ½L
- Windshield washer fluid
- A/T total Oil swap 8L dinoil
- Pullover Neoprene axle boots
